Role at Mind-U

As Psychology Coordinator, Dra. Velarde leads the psychological and therapeutic side of every patient's care plan — individual, family, and group therapy — working alongside Dr. Rochín's psychiatric leadership so that each patient's emotional and psychiatric treatment moves forward as one coordinated plan, not two separate tracks.

Therapeutic Modalities

With 10 years of clinical experience, Dra. Velarde works across several evidence-based modalities depending on what each patient's process calls for: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and restructure thought patterns, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotional regulation, Systemic Family Therapy when a patient's condition involves the family unit, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Ericksonian Hypnosis as a complementary tool in addiction and trauma work.
