What Happens During Stabilization
From arrival, care is medically structured: vital signs are taken immediately, followed by lab work completed within the first 48 hours, with medication decisions made by Dr. Rochín based on each patient's specific condition. Patients in acute crisis remain under continuous observation in Mind-U's ICU-level monitoring area — connected to vital sign monitors, with ventilators, oxygen support, cardiac monitoring, and emergency equipment on hand — while the psychiatric and medical teams stabilize the immediate crisis.
When Crisis Stabilization Is Needed
This level of care is appropriate when someone is in acute psychiatric distress — a mental health crisis, a dangerous relapse, or a situation where safety can't be managed at home or through outpatient care alone.
What Happens After Stabilization
Stabilization is the first step, not the whole plan. Once the immediate crisis is under control, patients transition into a longer-term psychiatric treatment plan built around the underlying condition, not just the crisis that brought them in.
